My domain is still running in Windows 2000 Native mode but I no longer have any Windows 2000 Server Domain Controllers. So I want to raise the functional level to Windows Server 2003.

I have never done this before (obviously) so I wanted to get some feedback first. I have read over the help file and I didn't find what I am going to ask.

When should one raise the level? Should I wait until after hours? Can I apply the change during hours? Will I have to reboot the server after doing this?

Is there any thing I should know? Any ill affects?

Any advise is appreciated. Thank you.

I am pretty sure no reboot is required. The change on the PDC should replicate to all other DC's within the Forrest. You can verify the changes on each machine by running LDP.exe

Good luck.

EDIT: If you run LDP.exe, look for this particular area... (see attachment)....

1> forestFunctionality: 0 = Windows 2000
1> forestFunctionality: 1 = Windows 2003 Interim
1> forestFunctionality: 2 = Windows 2003

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
