is it possible to have a raid 1 set-up under freebsd but the drives aren't the same size - in that I mean I have 2x200gb hard drives and 2 160gb hard drives, now I will have a small website on the box and a small ftp, can I have a raid 1 set-up or is it that one set of drives is bigger than the others going to cause issues, I would prefer to use the two 200gb drives as they are sata and would be better for hosting on

You could probably gconcat one 200 and one 160 to give you 2 360GB drives, then gmirror them

i was with you up until gmirror - i have a gconcat readme X did for me should be easy to use that as a guide :) just need idiots guide to gmirror :)

gmirror is fantastically simple :)

Took 2 minute to setup a raid 1 mirror for a customer before xmas :)

I don't do it enough to remember the commands you type, but I remember it was only 4 commands and a reboot to get going.

I don't imagine concat (raid 0) being any harder.

yes but you all know what your doing and have been using BSD a lot longer than i have - so things seem rather simple (like me) :p

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
