Radeon 9600xt problem?

OSNN One Post Wonder
I recently purchased a Radeon 9600xt graphics card and installed it onto my system, I played a number of games with no problems for 4/5 days when suddenly I have a problem with all my display settings become garbled and illegable. I have since restored my old NVIDEA card and restored to an earlier time.

Do I have compatability problems? what can I do to ensure the graphics card will work with my system?

should I take the card back?
any help is appreciatted

I have seen this on another PC.

File System : Fat 32

Is this a upgrade from a DOS based system?

The problem you describe with your video card is usually heat related or overclocking to high.

First I'd make sure the fan on the video card is working properly. You could remove the HSF from the card and make sure its seated correctly with some new heat compound, doing this will *Void your Warranty* so its your call....

Uninstall your old video drivers in Add & Remove and reboot, then run Driver Cleaner to get rid of anything left over.

Install the 9600XT with new drivers and if it keeps doing the same get the card replaced.

Ep, glad to see you come back and tidy up...did want to ask a one day favor, I want to enhance my resume , was hoping you could make me administrator for a day, if so, take me right off since I won't be here to do anything, and don't know the slightest about the board, but it would be nice putting "served administrator osnn", if can do, THANKS
