Hi Guys,

I have finished installing my 9600 Pro Radeon. Before I installed the drivers off the CDRom, I went ahead and cranked up my settings to 2048 x 1536 (or somewhere around there, I do remember the first setting being in the 2000's). Now after my driver installation, my resolution can only hit 1280 x 1024. Also, It shows a second monitor that it can support, for which I don't need. Is there someway to correct my situation, which is basically higher reloution and remove the second monitor in the settings window. Should I be using the latest catalyst drivers available all the time?

Thanks in advance

Can you uncheck the box that says "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display"? I can't remember if that option is in the new Catalysts or not.

you have dual ramdacs so it will show 2 monitors... just leave one un-used.. it makes no difference since you have a dedicated ramdac per monitor...

resolutions are normally limited by winxp and/or your video card to resolutions and refresh's supported.. I recommend you stay within the guidelines or you may end up frying something...

if your monitor can support the resolutions... go ahead and do as handy said :)

cat 3.7's are supposed to be one of the best @ the momment with lots of improvements and speed increases in games like ut2003...

Hi Sazar,

The side of my box says that it can reach that 2048x1536 resolution. So If I understand correctly, if it is not on the list, it is not supported by my monitor?

Thanks Sazar

if you are referring to your video card box... yes you gpu can support high resolutions...

however your monitor has to support the same resolutions in order for you to be able to use it safely...

I can also go high with my card... but due to my monitor having a top res of 1600x1200... I have to limit myself to that...

Great, Thanks for the info. Sazar.

Much appreciated, Now I understand.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
