Radeon 9600 or 9800?

I can choose from a radeon 9600 PRO w/ 256MB of ram or a 9800 SE w/ 128MB of ram for the same price. Which one should I choose. Thanks.

Your best bet is to check 3dmark scores 🙂

no 9800 SE...go for 9600...usually if a card says SE or LE(I think nvidia uses LE) it's not worth it...

9600 series == 128bit memory bus and 4 rendering pipeliens...

9800SE == 256bit memory bus and 4 rendering pipelines...

the 9600pro is likely going to be a better buy due to higher core/memory clocks but if you are lucky and get a good 9800SE you can soft-mod it to become a full 9800pro card... 🙂

lol ok I was getting worried as to what I'd do if it got fried. So to soft-mod a card i just need to get "omega drivers"?
