Quiet PC build please help!?

We have Inergen, Foam and Water at coreix, set in that order. Very little would fail with water being dumped on it. We'd probably just have to replace a cpouple of psu's and maybe mainboards taken out by the psu's.

Having said that if the water ever went off the place would be pretty much beyond salvage so I'm not sure the insurance company would care much.

I gave a friend a hand sized HALON fire extinguisher for a birthday present - can't have been more than twelve years ago or so... Sounds like I won't be getting one any time soon then :(

and does it truly matter if it is carcinogenic? The fact is if you were in the datacentre when the Halon flooded it and you didn't get out - you'd be dead, so cancer would not really figure!

health and safety :) you may not be able to leave inside 30 seconds for whatever reason :)

ALmost NO Halon extinguishers are actually halon anyway...
they use halotron almost exclusively, and as far as anyone is concerned they keep quiet the whole halon can give you cancer thing...

:D

PLUS... if you hold your breath and you do get out, you could develop a third eye someday, ICK!!
:dead:

Im guessing you say this because you all use high-density server?

I wouldnt hold that to be very true however, if any water were to get in there (solely while power is still applied), Uh-oh... well you get the point...

But it sounds like you have a pretty well planned data-center, so I would hope the first thing that happens is the power disconnection :D

I'm told for the water to be released the heat sensors on the ceiling (12-13 feet up) would need to be registering temperatures above 300C and both the inergen and the foam had both failed to be released, or had been released and the temperature still registered that high.

Water is a last ditch measure, but there wouldnt be much to rescue if it was to be triggered.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
