i got a question and i dont know if im in the right forum but here it goes. sometimes when i switch back on to my user on xp home edition an error message pops up and says that my computer is low on virtual memory. what does this mean? please help me.

right click on my computer>>properties>>advanced>>setting>>advanced
now increase it
paging file=virtual memory

Could also mean that you are short of hard drive space and your page file is being over worked as a result.
Assuming that you did not reset your virtual memory, manually.

is this a major problem? should i be worried? how can i fix it?

i have a 40 gig hard drive. i also have 256 ram and thinking of adding 512. is this a good investment?

thats one of the things I am doing in my upgrade

I've ran Windows XP Pro on both 128mb and 256mb ram, if you have no problems with the amount you have now, save your money.
There's no NEED to be running on anything more than 256, its just a preference

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
