Hey in my event system log i have:

The DriverLINX Port I/O Driver service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

Does anyone know what this is for? What driver am i missing?

Thanks

Windows is trying to start the service but is unable to find it. Have you recently tried installing any software/hardware that added a service?

You can view services by navigating to admin tools, services. Search for that service in the list. You can read a description about it and disable/enable it.

Personally I do not have this service so I am not sure how you obtained it.

I dont see anything in my services event list...what else can I do?
I didn't install anything recently...

Try downloading a registry sweep such as RegCleaner, a freeware program that deletes all unneeded crap from your registry. This program works very well and does a good job. Give it a try and see if that works for you.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
