Just recently I installed MS Office for XP. When I went into msconfig, as I didn't want to load up the MS Office common startup, I found old programmes which I had uninstalled recently but still have their startup registry (not sure what exactly it is) still loaded there.

easier way
<<<<< remove the office icon from the startup folder reboot - that removes office from msconfig - the other way around leaves a dead entry as you've noticed......For multiple entries enable the same ones reboot this turns it back into one.....For Uninstalled programs - enable msconfig entry before uninstalation....... Thus eliminating the need for reg hacks

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
