After re installing WinXP using restore from the install CD I cannot change any folder from "read only" to normal, after unchecking the "read only" checkbox and right click then choose properties on the same folder the "read only" is checked again.

I guess it have something to do with accound permissions but
I'm the administrator and I have full acces to the system.

Any ideas???

BTW: That users account system is useless if you're the only user, can I get rid of it??

Why don´t you try logging on as the real administrator?

Uh? WHat do you mean??

I'm the administrator and I'm the only user on my own PC.

Login as the "real" administrator???

real administrator means being logged on with the verbatim title "Administrator," not just a user with administration rights. Is that how you log on?

Thanks AlecStaar, I did what you said.

My profile (user) SPYRO is part of the administrator account already.

I have two users on this group:

Administrator
SPYRO

Any ideas? All the folders still "read only" and cannot be changed.

Mhhh...

I have unchecked "Use simple file sharing" and I cannot see any "permission" tab when right clicking a folder and selecting properties.

🙁
