Ps2 Online Using A Router

Hi, i just bought my ps2 online adapter, and i don't want to have to keep disconnecting my pc to play on my ps2 so i bought a Linksys 4 port Router. when i try to connect to the madden 2003 server it shows me connected but when i try to get online and play it says can't. but if i disconnect my ps2 from my router and put it right to my cable modem all is good. how do i get this to work through the router please?

Open the port or ports for madden and make sure the PS2 is assigned an IP.
