How can I set up to go through a proxy server using a router?? I can't figure it out. . .I have gone on the Linksys website and searched the archives here and couldn't find anything. . .

thanks,

p

Just enter the proxy into your IE properties and you're done. I have a Linksys router and use proxies all the time, I need not to make any changes in my router. If you're using DHCP on your router it has supplied you with your default gateway (e.g. 192.168.1.1). That's how you get out of your internal network and has nothing do to with proxies.

problem w/ that. . .

Well, in Tools-->Internet Options-->Connections-->Settings, the Settings button is greyed out ever since I installed my router.

There is a proxy option in the LAN settings, but I can't get any connections when I try it there. . .so, I don't think that's the way to go. . .

Any clues??

thanks again!

Mine is greyed out to. I use the LAN settings tab to configure all of my proxies. Make sure that you're using the correct IP+Port number when you are setting it up. Here is a proxy server and port number that you could try.

It works fine for me...

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
