Problems restoring SQL database

Hi everyone ;)

I am having problems restoring a 8MB SQL database as I am moving to another host.

When I try to restore it via phpMyAdmin, it times out on me while I am uploading it. I don't have Shell or Telnet access to the host either as its not a MAJOR site anyway just for some friends.

I can upload a 2MB or less database just fine.

Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

First off, phpMyAdmin is great EXCEPT for uploading big databases. This is because PHP (which phpMyAdmin uses) has an upload limit. This is, in default, set to 8 MB. So, if your database is just over 8 MB it can't be uploaded to phpMyAdmin. One way to fix this is to cut the .sql file into smaller pieces (4 MB, halfway). Just cut it between queries and it should work (I think).

Good luck!

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
