I have tried twice to download the IT Tech version of XP SP2 but for some reason it will say it is complete after only downloading 216mb one time and 157mb the second. Anyone know why?

I only have dialup but I have 5 computers that I want to update and don't want to do them individually.

Also, is there any way to use a download manager like stardownloader with windows updates? I haven't found a way yet.

Thanks,
Dave

I don't know of any download mangers that work with windows update though I believe if you can to version 5 they made it so you can resume it better. Otherwise if you can and have a friend that has a high speed connection to download it and burn it to a cdrw or something

I will try the mirrors first even though MS forbids it.
Thanks for the offer Castity but if I have too, I can bring a laptop to work and use their high speed connection. I can only do that on a weekend and I don't want to spend any more time there than I absolutly have to. ;)

Try bittorrent as well. If you are on dialup, that's actually a fine way to get it.

Since the mirrors posted above are unofficial, I highly suggest running an md5 check on the one you download to make sure it hasn't been tampered with in any way.

Download the md5sum.exe file from here, and place it in your C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder. Then open up a command prompt window and type "md5sum WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe" in the folder you downloaded the service pack installer. Compare the hash that's generated to this one:

If the two match, you're good to go.

I gave up trying to get it on dialup. :(
Going to wait till it shows up on a disk on a magazine cover instead. :D

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(
