Problem with AIM/ICQ

well my friends computer has this problem, when he types a message and hits send it takes 6 seconds before it sends, he has reinstalled and everything, and it still does it, i can't find a logical reason why it would do that, any ideas?

i fixed it, apprently buddy icons were causing it, not sure why but they are disabled now
