ok this is a silly question, but i have been keeping up on my hardware info. i am demoing(not sure if that's a real word) this system. it has an AMD XP 2200, 512mb of PC2700 DDR RAM and a Soltek 75FRN2-L mobo.

my questions is what is the clock speed of that chip? when it boots it says 1350mhz. i know that 2200 isn't the clock speed but, 1350 seems kinda low to me. i went into the bios to change it and it said the FSB was 100. shouldn't it be 266? also when it boots it says something about the memory frequency being 166. is that right??

i don't want to overclock it. i just want it to run at the right speeds. i can't afford to replace the parts if i screw it up, so i am just a little bit paranoid.

thanks
oDin.

my friends got an xp2200+ and his clock speed says 1.81ghz. about the memory, pc2700=333mhz, but sometimes the bios might display 166mhz, but im not sure. 166x2(DDR)=333

fsb should be 133 so I would change it to that... the 266 is 133x2

the memory clock is a little faster... 166x2 = 333mhz...

the clock multiplier of the computer you have should be 13.5 which is what it appears to be since 13.5 x 100 == 1350

if you change the fsb to 133 from the 100 it is now it will become 133x13.5 = 1795.5 or ~ 1800mhz... which is the stated clock speed for the 2200+ processor :)

most motherboards by default boot to a 100mhz fsb in case you have an older processor as a safety measure... so you don't blow the older processor..

:)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
