I get this error when I try to slipstream the service pack into my d:\cdroot directory. I dunno what could be wrong...all the files are there.

Have you got the i386 folder setup & ready? Could you explain what you have done so far?

ok...here is what i did so far...

1. Created a folder called XP on my D:\ drive
2. In the D:\XP folder i created 3 subfolders called cdroot, xpboot, and xpsp1.
3. Issued D:\XP\xpsp1_en_x86 -X at the run box and told it to extract the service pack to D:\XP\xpsp1
4. Copied the entire XP cd to D:\XP\cdroot....Properties of the folder are 499 MB on disk....6491 files and 134 folders. This is XP Professional Corporate Edition by the way
5. Went to run and issued D:\XP\xpsp1\update\update.exe -S:\D:\XP\cdroot
6. And it gives me the error

:(

Empty xpsp1 & try this from the run box.
D:\XP\xpsp1_en_x86 .exe /U /X:D:\XP\xpsp1_en_x86
That's the run command I have.

That a D not a smiley face.
X : D without the spaces.

This is the final command I have.

D:\XP\XPSP1\UPDATE\UPDATE.EXE /S:D:\XP\CDROOT

Don't know if - or / makes a difference.

The guide I am using is here. It is for Easy CD. The one for nero is close by.

the /X /U doesnt work for me...I tried that and it extracted the files to my E:\ drive in temp folder there

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
