Printers, Scanners and all that Jazz

PLease help me.......
I have just upgraded to Windows XP and Im having problems with my USB ports. They used to recognise my USB Printer, Web Cam and Scanner and now they don't. Is this a driver issue??
Also when I boot up and plug them in Windows doesnt auto detect.....it's driving me nuts. Any help would be gratefully received.

does anything register at all when you plug in anything usb? if not, check your device manager and, at the bottom, make sure you have all usb hubs and controllers installed properly. if you can't see anything pertaining to usb, i bet they got disabled in the bios somehow.

Make sure you have all the hotfixes installed from Windows Update. Next you'll want to make sure your bios is up-to-date by going to your motherboard manufacturer site - while you're there check and make sure you have all the newest drivers for your mainboard. Don't feel too bad... XP and USB has been a pain for a lot of folks.
