printer sharing

i have a computer with a HP 648c printer shared running on win ME. I have another computer trying to use that printer but is using win XP. I added the shared printer on the XP computer with the drivers available for printer by windows. It says everything is fine but when i try to print, it gives the following error:

Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup.
Try one or more of the floowling:
*check the printer by printing a test page from windows.
*make sure the printer is turne don and online.
*reinstall the printer drivers.

I was wondering how i could get this to work or it won't work or what. Thanx for the help in advance.

Try These Drivers

Try the drivers from HP rather than the ones that come with XP:

Windows ME is sharing the Winxx drivers that are not compatible with windows XP. all you need to do after you have created the shared printer in XP is to change the drivers drivers it's using under the printer properties.
