Pre Sp1 Add/Remove question.

Hey, all.

So the Windows XP SP1 is about to come out tomorrow or something, isn't it?

Well, I have a simple question:

All the updates from Windows update are included in the new expected SP1.

My question is, Do I need to uninstall the Windows update files from the Add/Remove list before installing SP1?

The updates there fills a lot of the list, and it's quite annoying, as you can see in the picture I've added.

No you don't need to remove them, SP1 includes all of them, hopefully it will get rid of the large list though, cause you're right it's annoying.

No need to remove the updates before installing the SP. It should make any updates it needs to the existing fixes and will remove them from the add/remove program menu.

I know that the list is pretty long there are 271 Microsoft knowlege base articles related to pre SP1 hotfixes.

I have installed several BETA versions of SP1. They DO remove all of the previous updates that are reported in add/remove programs and those listed in Internet Explorer Help/About Internet Explorer and replace with SP1 as a one liner.
