I am using WinDVD atm, cos I always find that the sound sucks with PowerDVD 🙁

WinDVD can have amplified sound using WinDVD tweaker:

Can't think of any tools that tweak PowerDVD offhand.
DVD Genie doesn't count (as I am affiliated with that too - bit o' punk everywhere)
