Ok I just installed XP pro, and when I go to turn my comp off, I get a black screen saying its safe to turn my computer off. I dont want that ! lol

I have ATX and it used to turn off just fine in 98. My XP doesnt have probs. This is one i just built.. Thx

Make sure you have ACPI turned on in your bios and your bios up-to-date. Unfortunately this is a feature that is setup during installation and may require a new installation to get it recognized correctly. You can do a search for 'apm' or 'advanced power management' here and see what comes up, but i'm not sure if that fix is what you need.

I have this problem when installing xp on certain machines....

Go into power managment in control panel. look for enable advanced power managment tab and tick it.

this does the trick..
