I use a portable IDE harddrive at school. At school I run:

Pentium II 348 mhz
128 mb ram

At home I run

Athlon XP 1800+
256 mb ram

Is there anyway to setup hardware profiles that will be able to access the installation from school and from home when the harddrive is plugged up into the respective computer?

It depends on what OS your running. If it is an NT based OS ( XP or 2000) then you most likely cannot. The hardware between your home computer and the school computers is just two different and it will most likley blue screen. But If your are running 9x it should be possible.

Ep, glad to see you come back and tidy up...did want to ask a one day favor, I want to enhance my resume , was hoping you could make me administrator for a day, if so, take me right off since I won't be here to do anything, and don't know the slightest about the board, but it would be nice putting "served administrator osnn", if can do, THANKS
