I can take active sinc out of my startup folder and then sandbox it from putting itself back in there, but is there a setting somewhere in the interface to keep it from insisting on starting?

Re: pocket pc active sinc question

Not sure if I understand your question, but if you don't want it to "auto-sync" when connected, reference the screenshot.

If you are trying to stop it from starting within Windows, do as you said before by removing from startup, or using MSCONFIG or editing the registry.

Did either of those answer your question?

I like auto sync, that's not my problem

the sync application starts with windows...even if you take it out of the registry it puts itself back in I want to start it when I want not whenever I turn on the box

then there's no exit either...what's up with that?

Re: pocket pc active sinc question

looks like what I'm asking for...thing is I can already do that with my sandbox, I was just hoping there was a switch in the interface that I was missing

thanx for the link...reps coming

Re: pocket pc active sinc question

I understand your theory, but honestly I can say I'm not surprised. Microsoft wants to be the top dog of everything, if they built an "exit" into it, that would give you the option of using other things. If it's always running, it is just more convenient to use their tool.

EDIT: Thanks for the rep, you give mucho puntos :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
