Plus! XP Screen & Power Saver Failure

Brand new computer right out of the box.

After installing Plus! for XP, the screen savers (including the ones that came with
the computer) and power saver features fail to come on at the preset time.

Plus! for XP version 1.0.1.732.

I can click on preview and see all screen savers working fine. Graphics are viewed
correctly.

Added RAM; now have 384 MB DDR

Downloaded all updates for XP.

Downloaded "Plus! for Windows XP Update"

Downloaded all updates from 'puter manufacturer

I've gone in circles with MS's "Knowlege Base"

Is there anyone out there who can advise Please?

If you are using the 3D screensavers I believe they will defeat the power saving features. Just don't use screensavers. Aside from being useless, they use resources unnecessarily.

But,
The problem is with ANY screen saver.

The problem is also with the "Energy Star" settings, even if NO screen saver is selected.

The problem doesn't go away after uninstalling Plus! for XP.

Yes, I guess

But, We all pay alot of money for these Microsoft dependant machines and would appreciate them working as designed.

If I can get an answer as to why this happened and how to fix it I'm opened to finding out.
