LOL
That was funny!
I love it when you say the full socket names: It's like when doctors use the latin names for diseases/illnesses.
Let's see if I can remember them all.
Socket 1 was the 80386(SX/DX) processors (BAD FPU's) [AKA Overdrive Socket]
Socket 2 was the 80486(SX/DX,2,4/DLC) processors (Bad FPU's)
Socket 3 was the 80586/Pentium/AMD K5 (Names changed due to law allowing I believe it was Cyrix to make any named 80X86 CPU's)
Socket 5 was the PII(MMX)/AMD K5
Socket 7 did the PII-MMX/ and the AMD K6/3D NOW
Slot 1 PII-MMX, PIII-SSE
Slot A Athalon, Duron
Slot 2 Xeon
Socket A(462) AMD-XP, MP, Duron chips
Socket 370 PIII
Socket 478 P4
And I'll lean on Un4gIvEn1's true and appearently (Electrical Engineering) knowlege for the rest!!!
I'm sure I missed some but those are the ones I've worked with.
