(PHP) mailbox question

As some of you might know, I am coding a online mail-checker/reader/composer/whatever. I opened a mailbox at my ISP for testing purposes. Here's the current script: http://allhope.geffychan.co.uk/~glennhof/mail/mail.php
I am having problems, however.
I want to set the status of the mail to 'read' when I have clicked (and thus reading) the message. But I have no idea what imap function I should use and what options I should use. Can anyone help me?

I hate to say this, but you are reinventing the wheel.

http://www.nuralstorm.net/ check out that mail client and see if you can find what you need, i personally have no experience with the imap/mail functions of PHP except mail()

I know that I am re-inventing the wheel. I am still learning PHP and I have found that I learn it better the hard way, by doing it myself. It's (ususally) more fun too. I only want examples, not complete scripts.
I did the same with my shoutbox.

Well, i suggest you take a look at that script and see how they do it.

Well, I did take a look at the script, but it still did not work. After a bit more searching I found that POP3 doesn't support the //Seen flag in imap_setflag_full(). So it ain't possible.

Guess you have to do is script side, and not pop3 side.
