Hey peeps,
This is the fourth time I've had to deal with this problem (I'm really considering either buying a mac or not letting my brother use my computer) and I really don't want to reformat again (this would make for the fourth reformat for Wired and I've had Wired for about 6 month).
IE will randomly open and start to load a website for some antivirus I've never heard of before. If I close the window, a pop-up box will appear asking me if I really want to navigate away from the page before the antivirus does a free scan. If I close that box, a pop-up will come up and tell me to click save file to download the product and a tab will open up in Firefox and the download will pop up.
If I try to prevent IE from going online by clicking the work offline option before I connect to the internet, the prompt box randomly comes up for IE(the one that asks if you want to stay off line or connect when you try to view a webpage offline). If I either click the stay offline option or just close the box, IE will start to launch window after window until either IE crashes or I use the task manager to terminate IE.
I've scanned my computer already with Spybot, Adaware, PestPatrol, AVG, Norton's Online Scanner, and Trend Micro's online Scanner. The only malware that came up on any of the scans is the run of the mill spyware/adware that I find after letting my brother use my computer.
Can someone please check my HijackThis Log and see if there's anything I need to take care of?
