I have been pretty dedicated to Kubuntu for alittle while now, but this past week end decided to reach out on a limb and try PCLinuxOS. I am digging it. It has an abnormal installation, but once installed, there is nothing to setup. It came with firefox 1.04 with jre's and flash preinstalled along with KDE 3.4.1 and Amorak 1.3 straight form the cd. Once upgraded, it ran FF 1.06 still with jre's and flash and upgraded to KDE 3.4.2.

The only configing I had to do was import favs and my fav KDE settings. WOW! Not to bad for a free system.

Anyways, on the laptop it doesn't seem to like my motorola notebook nic adapter. i use the NDISWRAPPER to load drivers and installs ok, but when I run a ndiswrapper -L it comes up with dirvers present but no hardware?

any ideas?

hey i fingered it out after several message boards. It appears there is a minor bug in PCLinuxOS, here is how to fix it in case someone else runs into this:

edit the /etc/sysconfig/pcmcia file and change the line
CORE_OPTS=1
to
CORE_OPTS=

Works like a champ after that minor little fix!

PCLinuxOS highly recommended!!
