Greetings everyone, its been a long time :dead:
I'm going to inherit my dads multimedia PC. Its a decent enough spec, Intel Dual Core 2.4Ghz or 2.6Ghz, 3GB RAM, Vista Home Premium 32bit (shame, but we can't all be winners - not a fan of Vitsa) and some silent running vid card that my dad got to be quiet but not game centric.
I need to upgrade the graphics card sharpish, as from what I know its going to be slower than my old rig's AGP Powercolor 1650 XT card. I plan to get one of these:

Question is, if the newer rig has a 1.0 PCI-E slot will a 2.0 Card work in it? or can anyone suggest a good 1.0 card in the 0 to 100 quid range if it won't? (ATI Preferred but Nvidia is also OK, any sub-man is OK as well).
I read somewhere that the leap from PCI-E 1.0 to 2.0 wasn't the same as AGP to PCI-E - is this true or a load of old cobbers?
Any feedback with be great.
