PC Rebooting - Strange

This has just been happening a few days now but my pc will mysteriously reboot by itself, doesnt show any error. This started happening a few days ago when I added an extra 512mb of ddr ram to my system. This is usually the case first when my system is booted first in the day. After that its fine for the duration that its on. Anyone have any ideas as it seems weird to be the memory cuz it continues to run fine after the initial boot up.

XP has a feature that causes it to reboot automatically when an error occurs. To turn thsi off, so that you can see the error message goto control panel> system> Advanced tab> Start up and recovery settings> then uncheck the automaticly restart box.
Now hopefully the nex time the error happens you will get an error message that will help you track down the problem. but if this just started after you put in new memory, then it is definatly a suspect.

I had the same problem, I never tried that XP trick mentioned above. Mine was with a Abit KG7-RAID and I was having problems with it. Mine was a bit different though. I had 2 sticks of 256MB PC2100 DDR Ram in my PC for about 4 months and then one day it just started to restart out of the blue. No idea why. There was no new hardware added, nothing. Took me forever to figure out. I know what stopped it, but not idea why. I took out one of the ram chips and my problem went away. The odd part is that I bought brand new ram and the problem came back. So I have no idea if it was the ram or the slot on my Motherboard went bad. Just my experience. I also heard that upping the DDR voltage made some peoples problem go away. It worked on mine sorta. It just made my restarts further apart. (not every 20 minutes or so)
