yes i did a search (will not start, battery)and nothing

pc will not turn on pressing the power button on pc (nothing happens)

yes there is power to pc
checked the power supply and all good readings
checked diodes and capacitors all good on motherboard
checked power button good
battery tested and needs replacement voltage tester says battery needs replacing (just hitting the replace field)

Can the battery on the board cause this ?

2 years old
intel motherboard 900mhz

thanks

Try holding your power botton for >4 seconds. This sometimes will reset the power supply. Then push it as normal. Worth a try.

Yes...sounds like the battery is first port of call.

Presumably you have not recently upgraded any hardware or moved the power supply lead to the mobo etc ?

found another batt last night and yes that was the culprit

nothing upgraded just a basic pc i play with till my new one is built

thanks

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
