Partition Magic

I recently ran win2k pro until the hard drive crashed, so I bought a new hard drive and upgraded to win xp. I have a dual boot (one for win98 and one for win xp) and I want to be able to view both drives (disk 1 and disk 2) from xp. I have partition magic and tried to un-hide the disk 2 and my computer rebooted, and I kept getting errors, then it rebooted again and I'm back at the desktop with the drive still hidden.

I was able to view both drives from win 2k before my hard drive failed and it was very convenient since I still had files saved on the other drive. Is it even still possible to view both drives from xp?

Hi and welcome at xp-eirence.org :D
it is possible to show two drives. But windows cant handle 2 active drives, so set 1 drive to inactive. Maybe this will help.

Will I still be able to move files between the 2 drives? I just need to retrieve one folder (it's bulk ~1GB), then I'm going to take the 2nd drive out.

yep you can do that. Just set the drive with 98 on it to inactive with partition magic and then you will be able to see the 2 drives and you can copy youre folder with xp and remove Your old drive...

How did you set the system up to do a dual boot with the new hard drive?

Boot Magic from win XP, and XP is NTFS

The drive with win 98 keeps going back to hidden for some reason =\

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
