Particular problem with an Audio Codec

I have this movie...

DIVX Codec for audio and "Windows Media Codec v2" for the audio...

The sound part won't play. No matter what...

I installed the codecs... And during installation, I got an error read/Write error on file Msaud32.acm.

When I used Windows MEdia player with automatic codec download, he downloads the codec but still no sound. I restart the computer, I run the movie again, he REDOWNLOADS the codecs, 100 percent, install, and still no sound...

I am going crazy.

I check my computer for the codec, and in fact I HAVE it !!!

I check the "avi" file with "avicodec finder" and he tells me that the audio codec is the one I am having problems with but that I have it (he check marks the file).

Any tips ?

yes make a better copy of the movie, from the original.

the sound on this copy ain't going to work, looks like

or perhaps download & install the Nimo codec pack
every so often I would run into a movie that wouldn't
play properly then I downloaded this pack and havent had
a problem sense...

get it here

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
