I have a Canoscan FB630P and a Printer BJC-5100 on my LTP1. After starting Win XP, the first time you use the copy function of the scanner it will copy en print it directly. If you want to do this for the second time, you get the following message:

Parallel port may be used by another application
Error code: 0x00060800

You have to restart the computer to scan again.

Who can help me?

Is the cable from your computer going to the scanner first, then a cable from the scanner to the printer?

Parallel Port printer problem

Parallel port problem

Thanks a bunch for the info at the end of the hyperlinks thatyou have provided , after trying these unsuccessfully i have found out that my canon bjc 5100 is not totally compatible with win XP and does not like sharing the parallel port with the sanner FB 630p,
..anyone wanna buy a Printer? !!!

P.s. thanks again for your help.
regards Jeff

a nother thing you could try is to get a cannon scaner,
i know it sounds dumb but get this ok, HP dont like you using a nother Companys scanner/ printer conected to one of there Scaners or printers, they only want you to use bouth HP scanner and printer to gether, its the same with cannon. hope i havent confused you here.

Parallel port problem

thanks for that advice also but the FB 630p IS a Flat Bed canon scanner so they should like each other , I'm just a little miffed by the fact that there is not an upgrade of driver that will work with the printer on Win XP.
Cheers any way , regards Jeff

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
