i have a file that is 659mb and my cds only hold 650mb. i have been thinking about playing with this overburn thing for a while now. i just have one question. on the 'overburn' tab in nero, there is a warning, saying may damage your cd-r.

what are the chances of my cd-r being damaged????

my cd-r is a plextor plexwriter 16/10/40a. it's a fairly good writer. i am just paranoid about wrecking it.

has anyone with this same writer had any problems with overburning a cd?? any success stories???

thanks
oDin.

i think you could safely burn that :) if its a binary file(Bin) the actual size will be much smaller than 659

thanks for the replies...one last question though.

which do i use disk-at-once or track-at-once???

thanks

DAO

Don't use TAO ever. Unless DAO is not working.

I have overburned many times and never had a problem.

I've always used disc at once, when burning images.

how much would you say you can safely overburn by?
i mean.. if you too far.. are you kinda guaranteed to screw ur cd writer?

Not really.

On my old TDK Velocd 12x, I was able to burn 712mb of video onto a Memorex 700mbCD-R.

The drive worked fine.

The most I would say is 720mb and that is pushing it. Though I have heard of people going over 720mb.

I really don't think it would hurt your drive. I think that is more hype then fact.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
