When I start OE, it downloads my mail just fine, however, when I keep it open for awhile and then try to send mail or check mail, I get this message.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I close OE than reopen it and it downloads or sends my mail just fine.

What's going on?

If this happens alot, there may be noise on the phone line, you may need updated modem drivers, or an init string.

Sorry, my fault, should have put in my original post, have dsl.:(

It's your USB power management setting !!

It's default setting is to shut down the USB port to save power, hence it's drops your USB devices.

My buddy had the same problem with his USB cable modem!

IF you are using USB DSL, go to device manager, USB controllers and select properties for the USB Root Hub. Select the Power Management tab and uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device" box.

Hope this helps !!

Thanks, but not using a USB DSL modem, it worked itself out, not having problems anymore.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
