Outlining CD with Marker for Copying?

I have a friend and he was telling me he read on a site that in the near future when they start making it unable to copy cds, that you could take a marker and color the edges of the cd and then you would be able to copy it. I told him I didn't believe him. Does anyone know anything about this?
