Well i cant open osnn in IE7 anymore, it just hangs and i have the end the program myself.

Its fine in firefox though... any explanation?

I am using IE7 (Beta 3) and OSNN works perfectly. It has since Beta 1.

Do you have issues with any other side? Have you deleted the temp files and cookies? There is a report that a certain update released last week is causing issues with IE.

You might want to clear the add-ons for IE7 or repair the installation.

I am using IE7 with no problems. Is there anything in particular you are doing when it hangs other than loading the page?

well i think i have a virus of some kind on my computer, it occasionally restarts for no reason at all.

It could also be down to some bad .dll files, have you tried checking to see if any of your system is damaged by using the run command and entering sfc /scannow ?

well i did a scan with avg, and although its not a virus it found it said it could not read the mbr and that is could be damaged, is there any way to fix this without formatting the drive?

well i did a degrag, and right now my machine seems to be running ok, i'm using osnn through ie7, so lets hope its fixed.

Boot to the Recovery console, select your XP installation and type FIXMBR

i was thinking of that, but the only issue is that sometimes it can damage the partition so it is unreadable.... your thoughts?

I assume it's possible, although I've never seen it. Whenever something like that is attempted you should always make a backup of your data beforehand regardless.

I don't really see it being an issue.

i think i had some sort of attack or i have a virus in the mbr itself.... although it could just be me being paranoid, my drive really did need to be degragmented, it showed up mostly as read in the defrag program. L:)

thanks mainframeguy, i'll scan with avg again and see if the error is still there if so i'll do fixmbr

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
