Windows XP protect it's files - saves a number of files wich takes out a large space . You can "erase & optimize" them . Windows File Protection ( WFP ) - command "sfc" ( System File Checker )

Tip : openCommand Promt

type

- sfc/purgecache - ease & optimize
- sfc/scannow - checks protected files files on system
- sfc/scanonce - at next start XP checks files on system
- sfc/scanboot - enables " checks at every XP start "
- sfc/revert - default settings
- sfc/cachesize=XY : XY - indicates cache size used for files on system

You'll want to leave a space between "sfc" and the forward-slash switch.

is a question or attention ? ( no need for space between them )

help pls. Tried to scan now but it keeped asking for the xp pro cd when i have a ligit version of home. any ideas

Cosmin - really? Never tried it without the space - always assumed it was required. Learn something new every day. ;)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
