OpenGL problem

i previously had win98 installed, i full restored win98 and upgraded to winxp pro. i'm 100% positive that the video card is compatible with opengl. it is an ATI Rage Pro AGP 2x. i've been searching everywhere for the correct driver but i just don't know what i'm doing wrong. i downloaded the wxp-j5-30-1-b02 driver for WinXP on www.ati.com. i installed the update and now when i join a game and it says, "Loading...", CS just freezes up. pleeeeease help. o' what will thy do without CS.

Shouldn't have upgraded from win98, you can perform a full install of XP with an upgrade cd, just have to insert your win98 cd during setup for a few seconds... Clean install is always the best way to go.
When XP is installed, you have no OpenGL support, you have to install Ati's latest drivers for this.

I know you did install the latest drivers, but did you try reinstalling DirectX 8.1 ?
Is CS patched to the latest version also ?
