I havent been in here for a really long time (ever since it was xp-erience.org). Anyway, I am inclined to agree with you! I have been using FileZilla for about a year now. It is by far the best FTP Server and Client I have ever used! I have an FTP Server that I use pretty much all the time, and my client has never let me down.
:D:D:D:D

That being said, I have a challenge for you. I NEED a server-sided web filter that works with ICS, is very strong, and allows me to add websites to a blacklist with password protected configurations. Oh, and it needs to cache webpages to disk so I dont take a performance hit. Think of it as an opensource ISA Server with the Content Filter Plugin installed...

;) ;) ;) ;)

the open-source thing to filter anc cache, dunno maybe something similar to squid for Unix, not sure about the filter though

hey. if anyone is looking for a server package that say installs apache, php, mysql, perl, phyton, tcl, openssl, and a pletora of other things, head on over to ...

http://apache2triad.org

it was previously on sourceforge, but was removed because of licencing blah blah.

its still really helpful to all sorts of people dealing with anything web server related.

Nice one! :)
That's quite similar to PHPdev (http://www.firepages.com.au/devindex.htm) which installs Apache/PHP/MySQL/ActivePerl as a pre-configured bundle.

I don't run servers on my laptop, but I might give this a spin. :)

Woot. Most people that I know use Filezilla now :)

I gave it a brief try, seemed good, but I have no real use for an FTP server :)

I use OpenOffice.org whenever i can. i like it way beter than word, and this i can use legally =).

The MS Office inter-operability seems to be improving with every new release. Props to the Oo_O team!
:)

The only thing missing is something like Outlook, which I use almost everyday to keep track of events, tasks etc, so I haven't switched over completely.
I'm planning to switch to Oo_O as a Word/Excel/PowerPoint alternative soon, and I'll just use Palm Desktop for contacts, calendar, tasks etc. It's free anyway ;)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
