Once dialup disconnects, must reboot to redial..

hi all ..I have this problem that when I get disconnected from my ISP (dialup), if I redial - no app recognizes that theres a new connection .. everything is behaving as if I was disconnected (but I AM connected again) ..the only thing that fixes this is a reboot

.... I have read about this bug a long time ago and had it fixed .. but I reformatted recently and cant find the fix again .. anyone ?

I had the same problem, first try and find new modem drivers, if this doesn't work then...

if you are using Zone Alarm, get rid of it, it's causing your problems.

I switched from Zone Alarm to the Tiny Firewall of whatever it's called, and it works fine now.

OH YEAH! That's right ..that's what I had done .. had zone alarm and switched to tiny ..

now I was trying zap again .. becuase I like the taskbar icon way more ;P

yeah i guess its time to switch to tiny again

thanks for reminding me

Hey EP! All good with me, applying for Microsoft MVP right now, should have done this a while ago.

Notifications don't work, I only found your response by coming back to hunt up some threads, if you want, give me your email address so we can keep in touch easier!

EP, glad to see you come back and tidy up...did want to ask a one day favor, I want to enhance my resume , was hoping you could make me administrator for a day, if so, take me right off since I won't be here to do anything, and don't know the slightest about the board, but it would be nice putting "served administrator osnn", if can do, THANKS

Been running around Quora lately, luv it there!
