Ok beside the MSN thing. I keep on getting crashed so I reformated last night. Well guess what. Its doing it again. Its either MS Messenger or Outpost. I can't dont know which one is causing my this heartache.

1. Does this happen when you turn your computer off?

2. After the format, did you re-install a Service Pack?

when you formatted your drive. what did u do??...did you just reformat it or did you also fdisk it?.....its a good idea to, when you format, to use fdisk to remove all partitions on your disk. only takes and extra couple of minutes.

also...bookmark this site www.eventid.net....no go there....click 'search events' up at the top...now enter in the info it asks for. it will give you help/tips on what is causing your error and how to fix it. it also give the relevent knowledge base article. in your case its Q313169....now go to support.microsoft.com and do a search for it. basically what it says it that you need to remove the partition. which you should do when you format anyway.....note: winxp and win2000 are pretty much the same. so the fixes will, 98% of the time, work on both platforms.

I didn't think FDISK worked under XP? If I boot off an Win98 disc it always tells me that it can't do NTFS. Is FDISK on the XP disc?

If you have the XP CD, boot from it. Then you should be able delete and create partitions using the program on there. It is really that simple.

I know that you can create and delete partitions from XP Disc. But oDin recommended FDISK also.

Have you tried a bios update for your motherboard and try using the nvidia drivers for your video card !!!!

I have had an error like that before and I did both updates and havent had a problem since !!!
