Old Cd Rom Problem

You know how alot of the old cd roms can't read a cd-rw cd.. well i heard of a program that runs and makes the cd rom read it. Does anybody know what I am talking about and where can I get this?

I think the old cd-roms can't read the cd-rw's because the laser isn't focused the same as in newer drives and can't pick up on the info on the disc. Don't think there is any software that can make this work.

all you could do is try updating the firmware (beware, you could end up with a dead drive)

u could always go get a new drive. They aint they much...unless u r tight on money then i unno.

accually, i was using a disc on a friends computer, that had an old drive, and it didnt work! So yea.

Tell them to get a new one, they're pretty cheap.
