OfficeXP Problems

When double clicking an excel document located on my network on a remote computer I get an error mesage like this: "Cannot find the file \\Server\\....xls (or one of it's components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are available."

I tried reinstaling office, repairing an no effect.

Any clues?
Thank you.

basically it looks like that excel document doesnt exist on the network, are u clicking a shortcut?

the documents are there, a lot of them actually, but none of them work.
Sorry I forgot to mention that it doesn't work even when I try to open (by double click) a document located on my hard drive. So it's not a network problem.

it sounds like excel may not be 'registered' properly, try this...

Exit Excel and all programs,
Click Start then click Run.
Type excel /unregserver, and click OK.
and Start, click Run again
Type excel /regserver, click OK.

try opening the files again now.
hope this helps
