When you right click on your computer, and go to properties you will see a logo of the company that built your PC, (EX: Dell, Gateway). If you did not have one there to start with (built your own) how do you place one there?

This is done with OEM builds of Windows XP. OEMs are sent special authoring kits which allow them to customize certain features of the OS. You would have to use a third party program or obtain an OEM authoring kit to do it.

Its in the system dir.. called oemlogo.bmp
you can replace it with anything you like as long as the image isnt bigger then 180x114

system32.. just make an image that size and save it as oemlogo.bmp

OK

do you have to reboot for it to take effect?

THANKS

Nope, just put the oemlogo.bmp file in the system32 folder and then go back to the system info and itll be there

hmmm....

Yes, 180x114 exactly. It should just be there under the general tab in system prop., right?
