I am looking for something that will do the same thing a scroll wheel does on a mouse. But I just want a roller type thing to scroll down webpages (well im going to use it for when i read long PDF files) so i can just sit back and use the scroll wheel to slowly scroll down. I am at the point where i am ready to buy a mouse just to take it apart and take the scroll wheel out. But before i do that does anyone know of anything that will do this without me destroying a mouse? Im sure this is a long shot but hopefully someone has seen one somewhere.

I'm currently using a logitech cordless keyboard, and this has a small wheel on the left hand side. This works just like the mouse wheel.

Is that the sort of thing you were thinking of, or a seperate device just to scroll?

just a seperate device to scroll. i use a laptop all the time for work. I am not really in my office much because i travel to comanies. So i just need something USB that will let me scroll, i just get tired of keeping my hand on the mouse to scroll. If worse comes to worse im going to buy a mouse to take it apart :)

now the question is, does any other compnay make one cheaper :)

That does seem interesting, I'd be interested to see how you like it.

i guess there are more crazy people like me in this world

There site doesn't say anything about it being out of stock or backordered, I say you give them crap - try to get a discount :D

Just to be radical...

Why not install voice recognition software and say "scroll or page down" when you want new page?

There are systems for impaired people.

Nice thinking out of the box, Lee

Scansoft pdf scolls at a preset speed for you all you do is double click the page and it starts to scroll then you can set the speed.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
