5 minute video of how a bunch of emo kids controlled the freeway and beat the system by obeying the law.

P.S. Too bad we don't see more of Nidhi and Anna :p

I have to agree major league cutie. Although they could be cited for impeding the flow of traffic, yes it does happen. :)

I would've been one of the people that blew by them on the shoulder. Obstructing the roadway in such a manner is unsafe, period. And they giggle about how it could've caused a pile-up, very funny.

I realize what they're trying to prove but it's a science experiment at cost that is potentially very, very, very high.

But this is democracy in action! :p

Cool video.

The porn music when it shows the footage from the bridge near the end is a nice touch :p

I do that to people who tailgate me. I useally drive 85-95 on the interstate in a 75. Or 65ish in the 55 areas, when people tailgate me but won't pass I simply show them how well my brakes work. I have had pooeple follow me for it and start yelling, till I get out and start after them.

Had one lady that was tailgaiting in a 30 where I was going 45, then got piessed as she tapped the back of my truck when I hit the brakes. Pretty new camaro with a large scrape in the hood. Funny how asfter ahs didn't want to call the cops, but I got her plate number. :D

I've done the same, when I've been tail gated by people who get this stupid idea that being obnoxious (when they can quite safely pass), is a means to try to force people to go faster. A clue is, one can't really force another person to do anything

But there's a difference between someone who's already speeding (as I myself do in fact speed), vs. someone who's either pulling something like this, or going 20 mph below the speed limit... The more important question if a cop were to intervene would be "so, if 95 mph wasn't fast enough for you, what speed did you want to go?" Course both peeps could get speeding tickets, with the tail gater looking worse in this, for wanting to speed even more...

BTW, in New Jersey, on i78, the speed limit might be 55 mph, but the cops won't enforce it, cause it's unenforceable. They will enforce 65 though. And with practically bumper to bumper interstate traffic (think California like traffic here), all going 10 mph above the posted speed limit... I can assure that anyone attempting to do the speed limit there would get mowed over by people who wouldn't necessarily care to try to slow down, to avoid hitting them in the first place  I've got several family members (brothers + a brother in law) who work law enforcement in New Jersey, and this is the reason they gave, for why neither they, nor their PD would enforce the speed limit there. It could be dangerious/deadly for people to try to go it...

As I have driven 45-60 minutes each way to work for going on 3 years now, I have found similar tactics to entertain myself. I mean come on, something has to pass the time :D

Usually what I will do is just drive along, roughly 75-80 in a 65 zone, which is a comfortable speed in these areas. But if you go 81, they are all over you. So when someone comes up on my butt, I slow down a little bit. I let them pass me on the left, and then I speed up so the person infront of them in the new lane ends up blocking them in. Then, they have to get back behind me again. Ha, anytime I can pull this off 2-3x on the way home, it's a fun trip :D

great video ... watching it only demonstrates our need to increase speedlimits...

the cost of additional superhighways is staggering. upping the speedlimit 20mph would probably double the capacity of the existing highways.

some would argue this isnt safe ... no one said operating a car is safe ... its as safe as you make it ... i believe higher speeds would lead to many safety innovations only found on the exotics. the german and italian supercars are very safe at high speeds .... hell look at the formula one racers ... 200mph recks and they walk away... no reason why a family carshouldnt be able to do that.

then there is the more fuel issue ... more fuel equals more taxes raised to spend on something other than additional highways ... like schools in rural areas whos taxes support the super highways in big metropolitan areas anyway.

anyway ... good find on the video ... i just hade slow speed states ... its bullcrap really

Friday I was on my way to my buddy's property and I was going 65 in a 50 and some dude in a Dodge Ram (icky) was on my ass for like 5 miles and then finally passed me going atleast 75. So I speed up and passed him going 85. I keep going 85 and he got on my ass again and then passed me again. So I finally passed him going 105 lol and then keep going for a few miles at 115.

I was like god damn...its a 50mph limit and the dude is on my ass going 65.

If I had my blazer I couldn't of passed him and stuff like that since my blazer topped out at 85 if I was going down a hill to gain speed otherwise it wouldnt go pass 75 lol. I love my car...hehe

I wouldn't mind seeing an increase in speed limits... But speed limits are only part of what can tie one up. Traffic manageament (or the lack there of), as well as elderly drivers who seem to have trouble going 2 mph through an intersection can tend to make matters worse

I wish they'd add reaction time tests to the list of tests people need to take to get a drivers liscense here; but the AARP has made sure that will never happen  The elderly, in the fricken largest vehicles they can find, which are larger then they know how to handle is another matter however...

Well, big sedans = comfortable. I can rattle my brains out in a Jeep for many, many years to ocme although I imagine I wouldn't want the same experience constantly when I'm well over the hill :p

Lil ol ladies in the fricken tank can be downright scary  I really do wish that people would drive a size car they actually are able to handle. And the same can go for some soccer mom SUV drivers, who haven't yet learned to put the phone down yet  In the end though, it shouldn't be an example of the inverse relationship between the size of the vehicle, and the owners ability to drive

Speaking of scary, there was uncle Ernie... He was in his late 70s or 80s at the time, and he used to be hunched up over the stearing wheel, and would routinely ask people if they could see something in front of his car (as he could barely see himself), as he kept swirving the stearing wheel back and forth ever so much, as he drove straight down the road. My parents were afraid of being in the same car with him; and it wasn't that my father (born in 1925 himself) was that young of a driver either... About 1 or 2 trips, and never again...

People arpund here drive 56 in a 55 then when you can't pass 45, then speed up so if you pass you look like the *******. Good thing for no speed limiter. No much can run with my wifes little Celica.

I've seen people who do that... They go 45 in a 65 zone, and if you go to pass them, they ram down on the accelerator as if being passed is a challenge to their manhood

Sometimes the best thing is to wait for a nice safe place to go with enough room for this, then to pull out and really hit the accelerator, before many of these people can react. Course that's assuming one has a faster reaction time... As long as a person has enough room to do it safely, doesn't entirely matter, and if their brain is too slow to react so quick; one got to do what they needed without their ego getting in the way  Course it also depends on the person, as some people just like going 20 mph below the speed limit, and don't get such ego issues if others don't do the same...

Oh, and last time I was in Montanna, they only had night time and truck speed limits. Cars, and during the day, could go "whatever is reasonable and proper" with no set limit :D

Actually, come to think of it, the people who go real slow and then get all bent out of shape should someone go around them; and the people who will tail gate, give the high beams too, and act like a general sh**head to those going well above the speed limit, despite the fact they could safely pass; have one problem in common... They both act as if they own the road, and as if they had the right to manipulate all other people into doing whatsoever they might chose at a whim. This instead of just minding their own business, and leaving others to mind theirs...

OMG :D Anyone here watched Dumb and Dumber?

When the 1 guy had to take a wiz, so the other person passed them an empty beer bottle. So, of course he couldn't stop, and got another bottle, etc... So, the cop pulls them over for drinking and driving, and after questioning them about boozing it, he wants to take a sip to confirm it's alchohol  They try to warn the cop, but the cop tells them to shut up, and gets a taste for more then he bargained for.

Sends them on their way, telling them to just get out of there, and then stands by the side of the road puking and all :D Call it mid-terms tomarrow, call it tiredness, call it whatever, but the mention of throwing beer bottles at them; brought this to mind just now
