Is it posible to export user base in NT4 server and then to import in to 2003 server, couz we have to much users and to write them in to new server would take few days.

Is it posible and if can be done, would U help me or direct me to learn how to do

THX

why not bring the 2k3 server online as a bdc and sync the servers... then promote it to a pdc. that should work... I think... its been a while. :D

I'm not sure if you can do that PK? (acronyms for names too now too :p)

Seems like good logical thinking though m8, just don't think you'll be able to run the newer server as a BDC alongside the earlier PDC.

The minute we joined a W2K server to our network at work (NHS Hospital over 50 servers, and 1500 clients) it fought (and won!) for PDC rights.
It didn't seem to matter hoiw we configured it, the damn thing kept stealing the rights.

The previous PDC (NT4SP6) just gave up without much of a fight.
I doubt M$ would've taken a backwards step with regard to this issue.

I'd be inclined to follow the migration routine as prescribed by Enyo earlier.

It seems Windows likes the newest kid on the block to be the daddy.

You cant do that. 2K and 2K3 DCs are AD. NT4 servers are not. You cant replicate between a NT domain and a AD domain.

To do this you use AD Migration Tools, thats why we have them.

then migrate ... its all about the migration... if its not one thing its another... but migrate non the less.

Thanks , thats all i need it.

So now i know that its posible and i think know how to do it.

thanks again to all for a guideline

:D :D :D

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
